Top-rated weapons

Now let’s get started. In the images and descriptions shown below, you will see Rust’s top-rated weapons.

10. As seen in the image displayed, above we have the Thompson submachine gun. If you are looking for a weapon that doesn’t require much yet still gets the job done, then this would be a highly recommended weapon choice for you.

The Thompson is fully automatic and previously held the standard for the fastest firing gun in the game. Although the Thompson only retains a capacity of 20 rounds, it makes up for it with the low crafting costs. Crafting this weapon will only cost 10-high quality metal, a tier 2 workbench, 100 pieces of wood, a spring, and an SMG body. However, the Thompson’s lower range and accuracy does make this weapon more suitable for close-range encounters on your Rust server hosting server.

9. Displayed in the image above we have the MP5A4. If you are in need or looking for a more modernistic submachine gun, then this may just be the weapon for you. This weapon is the only military-grade weapon in Rust that can be crafted.

The MP5A4 is a more versatile choice for the best rust servers. It shoots pistol bullets and holds 30 rounds of ammunition. Although the Thompson has higher damage, this weapon has a higher accuracy rate, range, and, ammo capacity. This allows this weapon to be suitable in many situations. The MP5A4 just like the Thompson is easily crafted; requiring 15-High quality metal, 1 SMG body, 2 metal springs, and a tier 3 workbench.

8. Displayed in the image above we have the SPAS-12 Shotgun. Every gamer loves a good shotgun, especially for those moments when you need a weapon that you can use up-close that will do A LOT of damage. The SPAS-12 will definitely do the job since it is semi-automatic.

This weapon is sadly a rare find, it is only available in Loot Boxes, and on occasion, you can get this weapon from trading. The reload speed is unfortunately nothing special on the plus side, the SPAS-12 firing rate gives you a major advantage against any enemies who like to get up close and personal.

7. Displayed in the image above here we have the M39 Rifle. If you’re looking for a safe route to take, this is a well-recommended weapon of choice.

The M39 is not generally meant for close encounters, the best use of the M39 is for long-range and medium-range fire-fights. Unfortunately, this weapon is non-craftable, but there is a significantly noticeable difference compared to the craftable semi-auto rifle in the survival game. On the plus side, the M39 is considered to be a great silencer and has a zero bullet-travel time on speedy Rust server hosting servers.

6. Displayed in the image above here we have the LR-300 Assault Rifle. This weapon is definitely one of the most modern and advanced there is and has many new customizations.

This modern weapon can fire all 5.56 rifle ammo variants, it has lower recoil and higher spread. This weapon is non-craftable and is very hard to come by, you can obtain this item from crates and drops. So if you happen to loot one off of a kill, consider yourself one of the better players.

5. Here we have the Multiple Grenade Launcher. A well-known weapon to take out a major group or an adamant enemy. We would definitely recommend it when trying to defend an area.

The perk of this weapon is that it’s not just sending out one grenade, but it does send six out. Giving this weapon a very high success rate, this weapon also has a better reload time compared to many other explosive weapons. This weapon does have quite a learning curve, which requires adjusting your aim more than usual for the best results. Unfortunately, this beast is very rare and the ammo is unable to be crafted, So do be conservative with this treasure and its ammo on your Rust server hosting server.

4. Here we have the Bolt Action Rifle. This epic weapon is best suited for long-distance shots, generally, in Rust, you will encounter more long actions shots than you will up close. In that case, this weapon is perfect for those circumstances.

This rifle can take care of those difficult up-close-and-personal enemies if need be with no problem — if you have good enough aim for that. However, this weapon requires 30-high quality metal which might take a while to obtain due to cost, along with 5 metal pipes, and 2 metal springs.

3. Sniping is many players’ first choice, not having to get up close while at the same time getting a good laugh from bothering the other players. So here I present the L96 Sniper.

This weapon is key for the one-shot, one-kill concept. The reload speed is bolt-action and its technique reflects best in long-range. Generally, the L96 Sniper is rare to come by, each crate has an 8% chance of containing one. It has a very high accuracy rate and is currently the best sniper in the game. This weapon unfortunately does not come with a scope.

2. As for the Assault Rifle, this weapon is generally one of the most well-known and well-rounded weapons ever in Rust. The AK is chosen by the majority of players and is very versatile for many different needs.

The Assault Rifle is a high-tier firearm very capable of firing powerful rounds at long range. In order to craft this weapon, you’d need 50-high quality metals, 200 pieces of wood, 1 rifle body, and 4 metal springs. There aren’t many reasons to not get this weapon, it does a generous amount of damage and is also pretty cost-efficient.

1. We saved the best for last, here we have the M249. Using this weapon will allow you to wipe out an entire base on your Rust server hosting server if you have the resources and the time to do so.

Consider yourself lucky if you get to have this weapon in your possession, this weapon can only be obtained in Helicopter crates and Bradley crates. This weapon has a high damage rating along with a generous magazine capacity of 100. Therefore, leaving the M249 holding the most bullets in-game out of all the other weapons. This makes it the top-rated weapon in Rust.

Handguns

Here we have the M92 Pistol. It has a high fire rate and deals more damage than the semi-automatic pistol. This pistol can not be crafted, however, you can obtain it from Airdrops and Attack Helicopters.
Here we have the Python Revolver. This weapon can deal more damage than the M92 Pistol. This weapon does however have a higher recoil with only six shots. All you need to craft this weapon is 3 metal pipes, 1 metal spring, and 10-high quality metal.
Here we have the Eoka Pistol. A homemade single-shot pistol. Instead of having a trigger, the Eoka is fired but by striking a hole at the top with a piece of flint. For crafting, you will need 75 wood pieces and 30 metal fragments. The Eoka is generally considered the worst ranged weapon in the game.
Here we have the Revolver. The revolver is a ranged weapon that holds 8 rounds while loaded. The revolver does not do much damage, however, unlike most weapons, it does not require high-quality metal to craft. What you will need to craft this weapon is a pipe, three fully grown hemp trees, and 125 metal fragments. We’d definitely recommend it as a starter weapon.

Here we have the Semi-Automatic Pistol. This weapon has a fast fire rate and can definitely do some damage to unarmored or lightly armored players. The crafting of this weapon requires 1 semi-automatic body, 4 high-quality metal, 1 metal pipe, and a tier 2 workbench.
Here we have the Nailgun. The Nailgun can hold up to 16 nails in one magazine. It is one of the least used weapons in the game. To craft this weapon it requires 75 metal fragments, 15 scraps, and a tier 1 workbench.

Shotguns

Here we have the Double Barrel Shotgun. This shotgun releases two rounds with a widespread before needing to reload. The individual shots do about the same damage, but the ability to fire two shots at the same time allows more damage per second. Overall this weapon is very effective. In order to craft this weapon on your Rust server hosting server, you will need, 175 metal fragments, and 2 metal pipes.
Here we have the Pump Shotgun. The pump shotgun fires 12 Gauge Buckshot shells. The Pump Shotgun can also be reloaded with handmade shells. The weapon can only hold 6 rounds making it less effective. This weapon is for close encounters. Because it does have a large spread, it makes it more difficult to hit your target. In order to craft this weapon, you will need, 15 high-quality metal, 2 metal pipes, and 1 metal spring.
Here we have the Waterpipe Shotgun. This weapon is a single-fire ranged weapon. It uses 4 different types of ammo, Handmade shell, 12 Gauge Buckshot, 12 Gauge Slug, and 12 Gauge. This weapon is very powerful and delivers high damage for the cost. It is a very good weapon of choice for indoor fights. To craft this weapon requires 100 wood pieces and 75 metal fragments.
Here we have the Spas-12 Shotgun. This weapon is semi-automatic and comes in use with close-ranged fights. The reload speed isn’t anything special so it is not advised if you struggle with aim. However this weapon is rare to have, it is only available in Loot Boxes.

Submachine Guns

Here we have the Custom SMG. This weapon holds 24 bullets and has a very fast fire rate. Its accuracy, however, is a downside to this weapon. To craft this weapon you will need, 8 high-quality metal, 1 SMG body, and 1 metal spring.

Here we have the MP5A4. This weapon shoots Pistol bullets and holds up to 30 rounds. It has high accuracy, range, and ammo capacity. Those perks definitely make the MP5A4 a more versatile weapon within Rust. In order to craft this weapon on your Rust server hosting server, you will need, 15 high-quality metal, 1 SMG body, 2 metal springs, and a tier 3 workbench.
Here we have the Thompson Submachine Gun. The Thompson shoots pistol bullets and holds 20 rounds of ammo. Prior to the Custom SMG coming into the game, the Thompson was the fastest firing weapon in the game. The weapon itself is easy to control however, it does have a lower accuracy rate and range. To craft this weapon you will need, 10 high-quality metal, a tier 2 workbench, 100 pieces of wood, a spring, and an SMG body.

Rifles

Here we have the Assault Rifle. This weapon is a high-tier firearm with the ability to fire rounds at long range. This weapon is preferred for close- to medium-range flights. In order to craft this weapon, you will need 50 high-quality metal, 200 wood pieces, 1 rifle body, and 4 metal springs.
Here we have the Bolt Action Rifle. It is very capable of accurate shots from long distances. It holds 4 rounds of 5.56 Rifle ammo at a time. It is very rare to find and expensive to craft, but does do a lot of damage. It can be crafted with 20 high-quality metal, 1 rifle body, 3 metal pipes, and 1 metal spring.
Here we have the L96 Sniper. This weapon is very rare and your best chance at finding one on your Rust server hosting server is in the Bradley APC. The Bradley APC contains crates that each have an 8% chance of containing the weapon.
Here we have the LR-300 Assault Rifle. This weapon has low recoil and higher spread. This weapon can be obtained from crates such as Bradley APC, Airdrops, Bandit camps, and Attack Helicopters.
Here we have the M39. This weapon is generally used for long-range. Unfortunately, this weapon is non-craftable, but on the plus side, it has a zero bullet travel time.
Here we have the Semi-Automatic Rifle. This weapon does a lot of damage and has a relatively low bullet drop, with good range as well. It can be crafted with 1 semi-automatic body, 450 metal fragments, 1 metal spring, 4 high-quality metals, and a tier 2 workbench.

Machine Guns

Here we have the M249. This weapon has high damage, a high fire rate, and is a belt-fed light machinegun. It is considered one of the best weapons in the game. It can be obtained from looting the crash site of an Attack Helicopter or from the Bradley APC. A single magazine holds 100 bullets.

Bows

Here we have the Crossbow. The Crossbow will do a specific amount of damage depending on the type of body part that was hit. This can be crafted from 200 Pieces of wood, 75 Metal fragments, and 2 Rope.
Here we have the Compound Bow. This is the only weapon that features a charging mechanic. You can achieve this by holding down the aim button for an extended period, charge shots alone do twice as much damage. In order to craft this weapon, you will need 100 wood pieces, 75 Metal fragments, 2 rope, and a tier 1 workbench.
Here we have the Hunting Bow. This weapon allows you to shoot vertically which generally returns the arrow to where they were fired. To craft this on your Rust server hosting server, you will need 100 wood pieces, and 50 cloth.

Melee Weapons

Here we have the Machete. This weapon is in Experimental Rust with good durability and damage output. It is one of the best melee weapons in the game. This weapon can be used by equipping it in the hot bar and pressing right-click. To craft this item requires 100 wood pieces and 40 Metal fragments.
Here we have the Longsword. It is pretty rare, but you can find it in loot crates, barrels, and airdrops. Although it is worth finding as it has a good range and high damage output.
Here we have the Mace. There is not much to say about this weapon. It does quite the damage but has a slow swing speed. You can craft this from 100 wood pieces and 50 metal fragments.
Here we have the Salvaged Cleaver. Much like the Machete, the Cleaver inflicts high slash damage. You can craft this with 50 metal fragments and 1 stop sign.
Here we have the Salvaged Sword. This weapon can be used by clicking the right mouse button. It can be created with 15 metal fragments and 1 metal blade.
Here we have the Stone Spear. This weapon is an upgrade from the Wooden Spear, Stone Spear is slightly more durable and does more damage than the Wooden Spear. You can throw it by right-mouse-clicking. You can pick it up by pressing the Use button (default “E”). On occasion the Stone spear will break, when this happens, you can not pick it back up. In order to craft you will need 1 wooden spear, 100 stones, and 5 cloth.
Here we have the Wooden Spear. When hit with a wooden spear not only will it inflict damage, but there is a high chance that it will cause bleeding. The Wooden Spear is also throwable. You can throw it by right-mouse-clicking, You can pick it up by pressing the Use button (default “E”).

Explosives

Here we have the Beancan Grenade. It is very effective, yet can be unreliable at times. Sometimes, the grenade will not explode, or it will explode with a long or short delay. The primary fire button, or left mouse button, is used to throw the Beancan grenade. You can craft this on your Rust server hosting server by using 60 gun powder and 20 metal fragments.
Here we have the F1 Grenade. This explosive will do a great deal of damage to anything or anyone standing in close proximity when it goes off. It can also stick to structures by using Right-Click to break walls or doors, working as an alternative way to raid bases. It is craftable by using 30 gunpowder, and 25 metal fragments.
Here we have the Rocket Launcher. This weapon is very effective against players, animals, and buildings. However, the weapon and ammo are quite expensive to craft. The Rocket Launcher is considered one of the best weapons in the game due to its power. It can fire 66 rockets before breaking. To craft this weapon you will need 50 high-quality metal and 6 metal pipes.
Here we have the Satchel Charge. This explosive is meant to destroy player-made buildings, leaving them vulnerable to looting. It has a small chance of malfunction. Crafting the Satchel requires, 4 Beancan grenades 1 small stash, and 1 rope.
Here we have the Timed Explosive Charge. This explosive can be thrown onto walls, doors, or deployable items. It has proven to be an ideal method of entry in raids and it detonates after 10 seconds. This causes anything within the radius to be destroyed. To craft this item you will need 20 explosives, 5 cloth, and 2 Tech Trash.
Here we have the Grenade Launcher. To start off it has an internal magazine of 6 rounds and you can choose 3 types of ammunition. The three ammunition choices are, 40mm Shotgun Round,

Miscellaneous

Here we have the Flame Thrower. It uses low-grade fuel as ammunition and is the first weapon in Rust that only uses Fire/Heat damage. This weapon is extremely effective when using it against wooden and twig buildings. However, it is very ineffective against stone, metal, and armored buildings. To craft this on your Rust server hosting server you will need 6 metal pipes, 15 high-quality metal, 100 low-grade fuel, 2 empty propane tanks, and a tier 2 level workbench.

Weapon Modifications

Here we have the 8x Zoom Scope. This mod is extremely useful for hitting targets for recon purposes. You can right-click to look into the scope which magnifies the area ahead 8x. This is craftable, all you will need is 50 high-quality metal.
Here we have the Holosight. The purpose of this item is that it adds a holographic sight to the weapon it is mounted on. This item is craftable, you will need 12 high-quality metal, and 1 Tech Trash.
Here we have the Muzzle Boost. The purpose of this weapon is that it increases weapon fire rate by channeling gasses back into the weapon cycling it faster, at the cost of bullet velocity and accuracy. However, due to the reduced bullet velocity, bullets will suffer a ~12% damage penalty. This item is craftable by using 10 high-quality metal.
Here we have the Muzzle Brake. The purpose of this mod is it  lowers the recoil, decrease accuracy, and decreases the damage of a gun. However, using the Muzzle Brake does alter the weapon’s accuracy. This can be crafted by using 8 high-quality metal.
Here we have the Silencer. The Silencer is more curved towards stealth operations. This is used for stealth operations due to it significantly reducing the sound of gunfire. This only takes 5 high-quality metal to craft.
Here we have the Simple Handmade Sight. This mod provides you with a clearer picture of your target. However, it can not be used during nighttime. You can craft this Mod using 6 high-quality metal.
Here we have the Weapon Flashlight. This mod provides a beam of light in front of you. Be careful though because this may allow visibility for other players to attack you in the night. The Flashlight can be toggled on or off with the “F” key. This mod can be crafted from 3 high-quality metal.
Last but not least here we have the Weapon Laserlight. This mod adds a laser sight to your weapons. This allows the user a better sense of where they are aiming. However, other players can see the laser. The Lasersight can be toggled on and off with the “F” key.
