What Is an Addon Vehicle?

An addon vehicle is a vehicle that when added to your FiveM™ server hosting server, it doesn’t take one of the regular GTA 5 car slots, but adds an additional slot only for itself. Addon vehicles are recommended because they are not spawned in the game by default, which can help reduce the server lag unlike changing default GTA 5 vehicles. You can also set a custom name for your addon vehicle and edit it’s handling.

How to Add an Addon Vehicle Onto Your FiveM Server

  1. Download the addon vehicle from the internet For example: GTA5 Mods has a variety of vehicles
  2. Make a new folder in your PC and make another folder called stream inside of it
  3. Get OpenIV downloaded on your PC and start it
  4. Enable edit mode on your OpenIV and drag the dlc.rpf file into OpenIV
  5. Open the dlc.rpf file in OpenIV, go into the “x64” folder until you find the files that end in .yft and .ytd
  6. Grab all of the files and drop them inside of the stream file you have created. Be aware that car extras would be in a different folder called “vehiclemods”
  7. Go back to the dlc.rpf file and go into the “common” folder until you find the files that end in .meta
  8. In the main folder, create a new file called “__resource.lua” and inside of it type the following (then save the file).

  1. Upload the main folder into your FiveM server’s resources folder using an SFTP such as FileZilla.
  2. Go into your server.cfg and type “start ” and then your main folder name. For example: “start car1”
  3. Restart your FiveM server and you are done
  4. You can find the cars name in-game by looking at the name of the file ending with .yft(not the “name”_hi one)
