Why Use Worldguard?

**You MUST download WorldEdit when using this plugin, the two are linked together and can be used together.**

WorldGuard is a plugin for Minecraft Servers that allows you to create zones in your world that only permit mods or certain players from building within, blacklist certain items and blocks so they can’t be used, protects against many types of grief, and much more permissions that you can configure!

How Do You Setup Worldguard?

  1. Navigate to https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/worldguard there you will download the plugin.
  2. Next, we have to navigate to the plugin’s folder. Drag and drop the file you downloaded into the plugins folder. Rename it to WorldGuard.jar.
  3. Startup your server and connect to it. This makes sure that the plugins load correctly and that it creates the configuration files upon startup.

Configuring the Plugin

To configure the plugin how you want to navigate to the plugins folder and click on the folder WorldGuard. Then go into config.yml and you should see all the options there. For help with permissions please follow the documentation from where you downloaded the plugin.

Commands

Gameplay:

/god [-s] [<player>] – Give yourself or another player invincibility. -s can be optionally specified to have no message emitted.

/ungod [-s] [<player>] – Remove invincibility from yourself or another player. -s can be optionally specified to have no message emitted.

/heal [-s] [<player>] – Heal yourself or another player. -s can be optionally specified to have no message emitted.

/slay [-s] [<player>] – Slay yourself or another player. -s can be optionally specified to have no message emitted.

/locate <player>] – Have your compass point to another player (if specified), or pointed to spawn if no player is specified.

Emergency:

/stopfire [<world>] – Immediately stop all fire spread on the current or given world.

/allowfire [<world>] – Lift the fire spread suspension.

/stoplag [-s] – Remove all entities in all worlds and enter a mode where all physics events and liquid flow events are stopped. In addition, when a chunk loads, all entities in that chunk are removed. The purpose of this command is to solve problems involving thousands of entities or items. However, when this command was added, tameable animals were not a thing and the loss of entities was not an issue, but this is no longer the case and this command should be reserved for extremely desperate occasions. -s can be provided to make the toggle not issue an announcement in chat.

/stoplag -c [-s] – Disable the ‘stop lag’ mode. -s can be provided to make the toggle not issue an announcement in chat.

/stoplag -i – Display the status of the ‘stop lag’ mode.

Miscellaneous:

/wg version – Show WorldGuard’s version.

/wg reload – Reload WorldGuard’s configuration, blacklist, and region data.

/wg running – Show WorldGuard’s running tasks. An example of a running task is a UUID lookup of a player that occurs in the background.
