If you're setting up your own Counter-Strike 2 Server with Iceline Hosting, one of the first things you might want to do is change the server name.
This can make it much easier for players to identify your server among the multitude of others. A unique, catchy, or easily identifiable name can significantly improve the visibility and popularity of your server.
We have created a comprehensive tutorial designed to guide you through the process of changing your CS2 Server Name.
Getting Started
You'll need a Counter-Strike 2 server before following this tutorial. At Iceline Hosting we offer Game Hosting for Counter-Strike 2 allowing you to deploy a new CS2 server in minutes.
Alternatively, we invite you to follow our comprehensive guide titled "How to Create a Counter-Strike 2 Server". This guide is designed to help both novice and experienced users understand the process of server creation and the various deployment options available.
How to Change CS2 Server Name
First, you'll need to navigate to your server in the Iceline Game Panel:
- Go to the Iceline Game Panel
- Click on your CS2 server, you'll be redirected to the console page
- Navigate to the "Startup" tab which can be found at the top
- You'll then see the "Hostname" box which will allow you to modify the server name
- Change the hostname then restart your server
Now that you have changed the hostname, the server name will be updated in the server list shortly. You'll then be able to search for your server in the CS2 server list.
Using a server hostname provides an alternative to using the Counter-Strike 2 Server IP, which can often be hard to remember.
