Managing your Counter-Strike 2 Server
Our Game Panel features multiple options for our CS2 game servers which can ease the management process a lot. Most of these variables are editable through the Startup tab from the game panel, and we've provided a brief explanation below.
How do I display my server in the public server list?
The first step is generating a Steam Account Token on Steam through this url. These Tokens are private and must not be shared, they will also get re-generated if you change your Steam password and expire if they're inactive.
Once the token has been generated, you'll need to copy the token, go to the Startup tab from the game panel, locate the Steam Account Token variable, and paste it here.
How do I change my server's public name and set some tags?
To achieve this you'll only need to edit the Hostname and Tags variables from the Startup tab.
- The Hostname will be your public server name on the Server Browser and what players will use to find the server, make sure to choose something unique :)
- Each tag needs to be separated by a comma, see the example below.
How do I increase the number of slots on my server?
You'll only need to adjust the Max Players variable in the Startup tab, you can increase or decrease the value as you see fit, but keep in mind that a high number of players will result in increased resource usage.
How do I connect to my Counter Strike 2 Server?
There are three possible ways to connect to a Counter Strike 2 Server, 2 of them through the Server browser, and the remaining one through the Game Console. We have a guide in our knowledgebase covering this topic further which you can read here!
How do I change the server map?
Do you want to use a different default map? (the one that will be initialized each time you turn on the server), just edit the Map variable in the Startup tab. There are multiple reworked maps available thanks to the CS2 update, so feel free to try the maps as you like :)
- Replace de_dust2 with the map name of your choice.
How do I create daily backups for my server?
Our Game Panel features a Backup manager that you can use to create and restore backups as you wish (if you have enough cloud backup storage).
Furthermore, the game panel also features Schedules, which you can use to create automatic backups for your files in a specific timeframe, and it supports custom cron schedule expressions. Learn more about setting up scheduled tasks with our guide here!
How do I change the Game Mode and Game Type from my server?
Counter-Strike 2 also has multiple game modes and game types available, and this can be edited through the Startup tab of the game panel with the Game Mode and Game Type variables. By default, the server is set to Classic and Casual.
You can refer to the official documentation to learn about the available modes and the possible combinations you can use.
How do I transfer my server to a different location?
The Game Panel also features a 1-click Transfer system, you can switch at any moment to any of the available locations! Just head to the 'Transfer' tab and select a location, then click on 'Start Transfer' and wait for the process to complete.
